New Mammogram guidelines.

I could not believe how reckless our government is with changing the guideline for mammograms. My mother had breast cancer at age 36 in the 1950's. I started my screening at age 39. I have continued to have screening for the last 31 years or so. October 2008 I found a lump in my left breast WITH A SELF EXAM. I had SELF-EXAMED EVERY MONTH. Diagnosed with cancer an aggressive cancer. I started chemo that December, completed in March 2009 and surgery for a double mastectomy. All tissues were clean as well as the 3 lymph nodes that were removed. If I had not self exam and waited the two years for another mammogram, I can imagine how much damage would be done to my health. I feel betrayed and insulted by our government and there reckless attitude with health care issues. I guess to pass the Democratic health care bill there have to be some cuts, that would be telling women to start mammograms at 50. Was that part of the plan that was behind closed doors this past summer with the insurance companies and the White House. Again the government wants to control our living and dying.
